Mourners Pay Last Respects to 14 People Killed in Northern Iraq Fire
(AWP) - On Saturday, local residents attended the funerals of 14 people who died in a massive fire that broke out in the city of Soran in Erbil, Iraq’s Kurdistan region on Friday.
The fire, which started in a dormitory of Soran University, resulted in the deaths of several students and a university professor, in addition to injuring seven others, including four members of the civil defense.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani directed relevant authorities to offer all necessary assistance to treat the injured and determine the causes of the accident.
