Israeli Forces Demolish a Palestinian House in Jericho and Put Demolition Notices on Others

(AWP) - The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Tuesday that Israeli forces demolished the home of a Palestinian man in the village of Nu’eima, north of Jericho in the West Bank, “on the pretext of being unlicensed” and notified the owners of six other houses of demolition notices for the same reason.

Village residents said the house demolished by Israeli forces was owned by Nayef Awad Najoum and stood over an area of 120 square meters.

Speaking to the Arab World Press (AWP), Najoum explained, “I received a call while I was at work today that bulldozers were present in the area. I came and found them demolishing my house.”

Saleh Najoum, who received an Israeli demolition notice for his house, said he and his children would be homeless in the winter.

He said, “Our children, along with their belongings and everything else, are being thrown out into the open now. We are helpless. Someone who had saved throughout his life and became indebted to build a house is now, with his children, out in the open. Entire families.”
