Israeli Army Destroyed Dozens of Fuel Stations in Khan Younis, Say Owners

(AWP) - The Israeli army destroyed dozens of fuel stations in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis during its war on the Strip since October, according to witnesses and station owners.

Palestinians said more than 10 stations along one road have been partially or completely destroyed, rendering them all out of service.

Fuel station owners and workers said this destruction has caused severe harm to consumers who relied on them, as well as increased unemployment in Khan Younis, denying many families their source of income.

“This station used to serve the people and a large segment of the community, including motorists, bus drivers, public transport as well as water pumps and electricity generators,” said Ala Ayyoush as he surveyed the ruins of a station owned by a relative.

Luay, a fuel station worker, said about 300 people used to work at his station, adding that “the occupation forces destroyed everything in it, including the livelihoods of all these unemployed workers. Destruction is everywhere after they burned the station and all its machines.”
