Heavy Gunfire in Khan Younis as Israeli Bombing of Gaza Continues
(AWP) - Heavy gunfire echoed across the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as Palestinian sources reported “fierce” clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian factions on the 88th day of the Israeli war on the enclave.
Footage from the Arab World Press (AWP) showed thick smoke in the air above eastern and southern areas of Khan Younis as Israeli shelling attacks continued.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry in Gaza said on Tuesday that fatalities since the war started on October 7 have risen to 22,185, with the number of injured at 57,000.
In a brief statement on Telegram, the ministry added, “A total of 207 people were killed and 338 others were injured in Israeli airstrikes on the strip in the past 24 hours.”
The Israeli army announced that 31 of its soldiers were injured in operations in Palestinian territories during the past 24 hours, including five in critical condition.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted the army as saying that 18 of those injured were in the Gaza Strip.
