Critically Injured Palestinian Children Fighting for Their Lives in Gaza Hospitals

(AWP) - Severely wounded Palestinian children are fighting for their lives in hospital following the continuous Israeli bombing of Gaza as the war entered its tenth day on Monday.

At the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical teams in intensive care units are working tirelessly to save the lives of children receiving treatment for various injuries, including a child suffering burns to most of his body.

A doctor at Nasser Hospital said about the boy’s condition, "This child, Elias Abu Shamala, is 4 years old and suffering burns on most parts of his body – on 85% of it. These are second-degree burns. The child is suffering, and his health condition is critical now due to the exposed area of his body which is at high risk of infections."

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the number of deaths resulting from the Israeli attacks on Gaza has surpassed 2,750 with more than 9,700 people wounded.

The ministry added in a statement that the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank has risen to 58 people with more than 1,250 wounded.
