For the Sixth Day Running, Protesters in Amman Urge Closure of Israeli Embassy

(Arab World Press) - Thousands of Jordanians protested for the sixth day running around the Israeli embassy in western Amman, demanding its closure.

A gathering called the ‘Jordanian Youth Group for Support of Resistance,’ as well as several members of opposition parties, urged numerous marches in towns and camps, titled ‘Sacred March – Besieging the Enemy’s Embassy.’

The protesters expressed anger over the ‘genocidal war’ against the people of the Gaza Strip, calling on the Jordanian government to sever relations with Israel and cancel the peace treaty signed between the two sides in 1994.

Many women took part in the mass protests, as families with children expressed solidarity with Gaza, and raised placards condemning the Israeli war.

The surrounds of the Israeli embassy saw intensive security, and the authorities sealed off all access to the embassy premises.
