Al-Quds Brigades Commander Killed Among Three Palestinians in Israeli Strike on Jenin

(AWP) - A leading member of al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, has been killed alongside two other members in an Israeli drone strike on Jenin in the West Bank, the group announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Palestinian state television quoted the Palestinian Red Crescent as saying that three people were killed and another was wounded in the Israeli strike that targeted a vehicle in Jenin.

The Israeli army later confirmed the raid that targeted “terrorist members.”

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan) quoted Israeli sources as saying that two of the Palestinians killed in the strike had been plotting an attack “in the near future,” indicating that both were wanted by Israeli security and had been under investigation for some time on charges of carrying out operations against Israeli targets.

Al-Quds Brigades said that Ahmed Hani Barakat, Mohammed Abdullah Fayed, and Mahmoud Rahal were killed in the Israeli attack, adding that Barakat was the Palestinian group’s military operations leader in Jenin.

The group stated that Barakat had previously executed several attacks against Israeli soldiers.
