2 Killed, Others Injured in Israeli Bombardment of Rafah

(AWP) - Two people have been killed and several others wounded in an Israeli bombing raid on the area of Tel al-Sultan, western Rafah city, a medical source told the Arab World Press (AWP).

Footage of AWP showed two dead bodies arriving at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younes.

“In this site, there are more than 10, but the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the ambulance teams are unable to get closer. There are about 10 martyrs. We brought five of them,” said an eyewitness.

Another eyewitness, Khidr Shihta, said that the Israeli occupation forces had shelled houses in western Rafah with belts of fire, leaving a number of relatives and neighbors killed or wounded.

“Israel shelled houses in western Rafah with belts of fire, leaving a number of relatives and neighbors killed or wounded. We tried to contact the ICRC, the health ministry and the ambulance, but they [Israeli forces] refused to coordinate with them or allow them to enter the area. Some young people ventured into the area, but the reconnaissance planes targeted them,” he added.

“Another group tried to help the remaining wounded people, but were also targeted. There are about 10 martyrs and six or seven injured people in the area,” noted Shihta.
