Israeli Anti-Government Protesters Set Fires Outside Netanyahu’s Residence

(AWP) - Israeli anti-government protesters set fires outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Jerusalem on Monday evening, chanting demands to dissolve the government, which they accuse of failing to reach a deal to return around 120 hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Angry demonstrators stormed through security barriers on the road leading to Netanyahu’s residence and set fires around the site.

Police deployed water cannons to try to disperse the protesters and force them to retreat from the Prime Minister’s residence.

Protesters clashed with police forces, who tried to prevent them from advancing further on Gaza Street. Violent confrontations escalated as the police deployed additional military reinforcements to the site.
