7 Paramedics Killed in Israeli Strike on Lebanese Ambulance Centre in Habariyeh, NNA Reports
(Arab World Press) - Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that seven paramedics were killed in an Israeli raid that targeted and destroyed the Lebanese Ambulance Association Centre in the southern town of Habariyeh.
The news agency added that four civilians were also wounded as a result of the strike, which also caused damage to nearby houses.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that a 25-year-old man was killed in a missile strike launched from Lebanon on the town of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel on Wednesday morning.
A statement issued by Lebanese Hezbollah said that its fighters targeted the Kiryat Shmona area with dozens of missiles in response to the Israeli bombing of Habariyeh.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army, in its own statement, said that at least 30 missiles were fired at Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel.
The army had earlier announced that its airstrike had targeted a “saboteur” in Habariyeh earlier on Wednesday, adding that he “belonged to the Islamic Group (al-Jamaa al-Islamiya),” which was previously "involved in carrying out attacks through various routes towards Israeli territory.”
It also indicated that another number of what it described as “saboteurs” were killed in the same raid.
